SOUL TECH: Sophisticated shift happening

The inward change that I see happening all over is touching many levels of society such as: individuals, communities, businesses, corporations and governments. It is an organic and sophisticated shift taking place at a time in which we are called to connect to our selves, our core on a deeper level. I see this shift or evolution sometimes being activating voluntarily by people and sometimes imposed by nature or the law of physics when it is needed but not activated. And one way or another the process involves becoming lighter, first on a material, physical level to then continue on a energetic, mind and soul level. The main purpose, to connect with our higher self, our light, our love, the person that we are without all the layers, armor, crusts that we have accumulated over time due to our fears. But why would I want to connect to my Self many might ask themselves? and for what reason ? you might ask yourself.

A few answers I discovered over time through my Yoga and meditation practice. You can add your own too. These apply to communities, businesses, corporations and governments as well as individuals. Terms may vary to relate accordingly.

  • to identify what  and who resonates with you

  • to feel confident about yourself

  • to find your own way to express your creativity

  • to identify the connecting factor of the different things you do

  • to make evolving connections with people, places and spaces

At first this might seem a hippy, esoteric conversation. Although if you observe around you with this question in mind you will start to notice that this evolving inward shift takes different shapes depending on the environment it is working on, in this way it can cause a positive impact on the people involved. With limited budgets, massive layoffs, lack of resources for trainings and the impact that these have from individual level to government level people seem to start valuing  their workforce, network of people and own skills more than before,  making better quality choices in a more focused manner to attain better results. Sometimes having limitations as the ones above can be very refreshing for our productive and creative process.

Creativity is a major factor  playing in this shift and it can lead into waves of  liberation and discovery into our lives, businesses, communities and governments. A relaxed mind is key in order to see the connections we wouldn’t normally see and let this energy flow in our body, and for that I will share a meditation with you after this article. We are also used to follow and obey rules and formats since childhood, but are we given the space to connect to ourselves and develop our intuition? Logan LaPLante was lucky he got the space and he is doing it on a daily basis, he is 13 years old. I watched his video and wanted to share it with you.

As an artist myself I approach this limitation technique and collaboration as the basis of my work. The materials I used are 90% recycled or donated to me and when I start developing a concept I go into my studio and look at what I have. I went through a conventional BA Fashion Design program at FIT, where I was trained to work in the Fashion Industry. My main focus with my art work, now that I remembered I am an artist after going to Nick Cave’s For Now exhibition

at Mary Boone Gallery in New York, is to tell stories through costumes and characters that I develop based on my intuition and reflection of other people, from experiences I have during my Yoga practice and from my everyday insights.

Some projects I am working on at the present time, have been traced from childhood memories, or have been developing for years in my mind like Monika Grev.

One of the aspects I like the most in the whole process is when I collaborate with Hanna Agar, an amazing photographer and retoucher from Wisconsin who has made her home in Brooklyn. There is nothing more valuable to my creative process right now, as when I am able to share an idea and brainstorm with other artists, thinkers and innovators about their expertise and how they can contribute to the project. I try not to limit myself to fashion to express what I need to share. What I love about it and works for me but it is its malleability to combine very different materials into a 3D form that becomes alive when worn.

By going all over the place with this article today I want to share with you that new opportunities, new trends, new profiles, new careers are at the reach of your hands and available right now. It only takes practice to get comfortable with the idea that you are an endless source of valuable  gifts and another mountain of practice to find your own way to share it with the world!

Yoga and meditation can help a lot, my main goal when sharing this techniques is to hope they become as valuable to you as they did for me overtime 🙂 Yes overtime, with lots of practice.

Below I am sharing a meditation to rest your mind from Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan

Meditation to Rest Your Mind

Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®

Lecture July 16, 1990

Posture: Comfortable Meditative Posture

Mudra: Rest your hands in your lap, right hand resting in the left. The right thumb rests on top of the left.

Eyes: Tip of the Nose, also called Trikuti Drishti

Mantra: Har Singh Nar Singh Neel Narayan.

Chant with the tip of

the tongue and the upper palate.

Har singh nar singh neel naaraayan,

guroo sikh guroo singh har har gayan,

whaa‐hay guroo whaa‐hay guroo, har har dhiayan, saakhat nindak

dusht mathaayan

God the Protector takes care of the universe.

Those who live in God’s consciousness and power, chant Har Har. Meditate

on Wahe Guru and live in that ecstasy.

Those who vibrate God’s Name and relate to God,

all karmas are cleared.

To end: Inhale deep, exhale; inhale deep again, suspend the breath, exhale. Inhale again, hold the breath and pull tight, with a powerful breath, let it go.

Time: 11 minutes

Comments: Har means God, Singh means lion. Narsingh means male lion. “Harsingh, Narsingh Neel Narayan.” Neel you all know is blue; Narayan means spotless. Mind cannot be arrested; the warrants and the handcuffs of the mind are when you put your eyes at the tip of the nose. The mind, poor thing, becomes useless, you know that? When the optical nerve sits, fixed, the mind cannot move.
