WONDER WOMEN! THE UNTOLD STORY OF AMERICAN SUPERHEROINES traces the fascinating evolution and legacy of Wonder Woman. From the birth of the comic book superheroine in the 1940s to the blockbusters of today, WONDER WOMEN! looks at how popular representations of powerful women often reflect society’s anxieties about women’s liberation. WONDER WOMEN! goes behind the scenes with Lynda Carter, Lindsay Wagner, comic writers and artists, and real-life superheroines such as Gloria Steinem, Kathleen Hanna and others, who offer an enlightening and entertaining counterpoint to the male-dominated superhero genre.

About Wynn Tran – Dharam Avtar Kaur

Dharam Avtar Kaur (Wynn Tran), grew up practicing Tibetan Buddhism and meditation which had a deep and lasting impact on her. She believes all spiritual paths are connected and all lead to the same truth, a connection with one’s higher self. After discovering Kundalini Yoga, she grew in her practice and is eager to share with all its transformative effects, teachings and wisdom with a worldly, down to earth and universal approach.

She has lead morning Sadhanas, beginner yoga workshops for Cornell medical students, and actively assists in teacher training courses and workshops at HariNYC. When not practicing yoga, she practices as an optometrist full time in NYC, and explores her intellectual curiosity in science, medicine, healing, spirituality and creativity.

Dharam Avtar will be offering weekly Kundalini community Yoga classes next month, donating all proceeds to organizations in need.
